Spring Cleaning For Your Soul

Picture
We all need to spruce up after a long, trying winter. There are gardens to plant, closets to clean and clothing to swap. But while cleaning up your outsides, don't forget the most important part: your inner soul. Here are some spring soul cleaning tips!
  1. Start with gratitude: Gratitude clears the path for positive energy to flow, to you and from you.
  2. Check your attitude: Is your glass half empty or half full? Spruce up your attitude and consider the opposite of your complaints. It's about a different perspective.
  3. Assess your values: I start any coaching relationship with an assessment of values. They are our building blocks, the foundation of what makes us who we are, and helps with our decision making. When we honor our values, our decisions become easier.
  4. Be of service: Giving back raises our energetic vibration and puts out positive energy into our community and our environment; it also gets you out of your head and helps you take stock of what's unfolding around you.
  5. Consider your relationships: Nurture positive relationships and weed out the negative. Relationships are meant to make you feel good, not weigh you down.
  6. Respect your body: The winter doldrums can cause us to slack off on our body and health. Get back to a healthy lifestyle - summer is just around the corner!
  7. Get enough sleep: It's not a luxury - it's a necessity. It stems the flow of stress, and renews your energy.
  8. Laugh...a lot: You've heard that laughter is the best medicine - well it is! Laughter strengthens the body's ability to fight disease, reduces blood pressure, and increases energy levels. And, it helps us bond with others.
  9. Get back to nature: Get outside and reconnect with nature. Spring brings with it rebirth and beauty.
  10. Practice makes progress: I always say it's about progress, not perfection. Our goal is not to shame ourselves by setting unattainable goals. Perfection is illusive, but progress equals positive momentum. New behaviors require practice to change our default tendencies. Celebrate your achievements.
